7TH ANNUAL CONVENTION MEDICAL EXPO 2026
From Reform to Resilience: Building Sustainable, High-Quality Healthcare Systems in Kenya
The 7th RUPHA Annual Convention & Medical Expo is the flagship convening of the Rural & Urban Private Hospitals Association of Kenya (RUPHA) bringing together healthcare providers, policymakers, insurers, innovators, and partners to shape the future of healthcare delivery in Kenya.
Founded in 2019, RUPHA has grown into the largest representative body of private healthcare providers in Kenya, representing over 700 healthcare facilities across all 47 counties. Collectively, RUPHA members manage more than 15,430 inpatient beds and 196 operating theatres, delivering a significant share of healthcare services nationwide.
As Kenya’s health sector has evolved, so has RUPHA. From policy advocacy and regulatory engagement to pooled procurement, digital health transformation, innovative financing models, and quality-of-care initiatives, RUPHA has consistently worked to ensure that reforms translate into practical, sustainable outcomes for healthcare providers—and better care for patients.
The Annual Convention has grown alongside this journey, becoming a national platform for dialogue, learning, partnership, and action.

Why We Host the RUPHA Annual Convention
The RUPHA Annual Convention & Medical Expo exists because strong healthcare systems are built through collaboration not isolation.
Kenya’s healthcare sector is undergoing major transformation across financing, insurance, regulation, digital health, procurement, and quality standards. While these reforms are necessary, they also introduce real operational, financial, and clinical pressures for healthcare providers.
This annual convening creates a trusted, neutral space where:
- healthcare providers openly share real-world challenges,
- policymakers and regulators engage directly with service providers,
- insurers, financiers, and innovators align solutions with provider needs, and
- partnerships are formed to move reform from policy into practice.
We host this event to ensure reforms lead to resilient hospitals, sustainable operations, and improved patient outcomes not unintended disruption.
Why the 7th Convention Matters
The 7th RUPHA Annual Convention & Medical Expo comes at a defining moment for Kenya’s healthcare system. As reforms mature, the focus must now shift from adjustment to resilience building systems that can withstand financial pressure, regulatory change, and rising demand while consistently delivering high-quality care.
Held under the theme:
“From Reform to Resilience: Building Sustainable, High-Quality Healthcare Systems in Kenya,”
the Convention focuses on:
- sustainable financing and microinsurance models,
- efficient procurement and hospital cash-flow systems,
- digital tools that improve claims management, data flow, and clinical decision-making,
- point-of-care technologies that strengthen frontline care, and
- leadership, patient safety, and quality standards that endure beyond reform cycles.
